Splitlath Motorsports Will Field Miller and Cretu At Macau Grand Prix
Hong Kong based team, Splitlath Motorsports (a subsidiary of Splitlath Group) will once again field Americans Mark Miller and Brandon Cretu at this year’s Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix. Both riders will once again be let loose on the Armco-lined streets of Macau aboard the iconic EBR1190RS with which they both scored impressive results last year. Along with this, the industry leading online gambling company, Fun88 (www.fun88.com), has signed on as title sponsor for Splitlath at Macau this year!
Last year saw the Splitlath squad’s third year in competition at Macau but marked their first year fielding the EBR1190RS. It also marked their first outing with both Miller and Cretu. With this new bike and new team structure, Miller and Cretu scored their best Macau finishes in years, 11th and 20th respectively, along with posting some blistering lap times. They proved the racing pedigree of the Splitlath EBR1190RS at Macau in 2013 and again at the Isle of Man TT this year.
Splitlath Motorsports is well-known for being original and pursuing unique ventures and this year’s Macau Grand Prix effort will be no different. Along with riders, Miller and Cretu, aboard their EBR1190RS motorcycles, they will also field driver William Buller in the F3 race and driver Keita Sawa in our Lamborghini in the GT race. Both men on 4-wheels will be looking for top rostrums! All of these riders, drivers, and vehicles will run under the same Fun88 livery at the Macau Grand Prix! For those not familiar with the Macau Grand Prix…it is unique because both cars and motorcycles compete over the course of the event on the extremely demanding Guia Circuit.
Team Director, James Beeton, commented: “Since we moved our commercial operations to Hong Kong in 2013, the Macau GP has become our home race and highlight of the year. For 2014 we are really excited to compete in both the headline Formula 3 and GT races, in addition to the motorcycle grand prix. Every year we build on our efforts, so this year we are really swinging for the fence with the biggest team in the paddock.”
The 61st Macau Grand Prix begins racing festivities on November 9 through to November 16. Be sure to follow Splitlath on Twitter for daily updates, @splitlath, and check their website for more detailed information on the team and their ventures, www.splitlathgroup.com.
