RiCKdiculous Racing has signed Nick McFadden to race one of its Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycles in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship, according to a posting on RiCKdiculous Racing’s Facebook page.
McFadden placed fifth in the 2018 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship when he rode a M4 medAge Suzuki GSX-R600 to eight top-five finishes and three fourth-place results. In 2017, McFadden took third in the MotoAmerica Superstock 600 Championship with two wins and 10 total podiums on his M4 medAge Suzuki GSX-R600.
McFadden joins RiCKdiculous Racing Supersport rider Hayden Gillim and Junior Cup racer Gauge Rees.
The ride at RiCKdiculous Racing became available when recently signed JD Beach was released to take an offer to race in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with Estenson Racing and Attack Performance.
“I was sitting at [a restaurant] last Sunday [November 25] and the Team Manager from RiCKdiculous Racing [Kelly Rees] gave me a call after they got word that they were going to let JD [Beach] go get the Superbike ride,” McFadden told Roadracingworld.com. “They asked me if I was interested in riding their bike, and I said, ‘Yeah, for sure.’ Throughout the week we put stuff together, and they presented me an offer that I couldn’t turn down. Right now we’re out here testing at Chuckwalla testing for three days, and so far everything’s going really well and I’m enjoying the new R6.”
