Weir Everywhere Racing BMW aiming to finish 2018 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 season strong at Barber Motorsports Park

Rider Travis Wyman targeting podium finish or better at MotoAmerica Championship of Alabama

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — The Weir Everywhere Racing BMW outfit is hoping for a strong finish to an already successful first season in MotoAmerica competition.

The series heads into its final event of the 2018 season at the 2.38-mile, 17-turn Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 21-23. With the class championship already decided, the team will be using Sunday’s Stock 1000 Class race to continue developing its new suspension package, as well as hopefully capture its third win of the season.

The team clinched second place in the Stock 1000 championship standings at the previous round and is hoping to take a strong performance into the more than six-month off season. The effort got a late start in the development of its BMW S 1000 RR package prior to the 2018 season. Despite having little time to test before the season and Wyman’s lack of experience racing a 1000cc motorcycle, the team has put together an impressive 2018 campaign.

“It’s always sad when a MotoAmerica season is coming to a close, but I can look back at the 2018 season as the best one I’ve had in my career,” Wyman said. “Our goals at the start of the season were to win the inaugural Stock 1000 Class title and win BMW’s first MotoAmerica championship. While we came up a little short on those, we have established a strong new team in the MotoAmerica paddock and shown the prowess of our BMW package. I am looking forward to continuing the development of the BMW S 1000 RR in the off season, as well as having an even stronger MotoAmerica campaign in 2019.”

More information about the team’s plans for the off season and the 2019 MotoAmerica season will be released soon.
