Altus Motorsports will enter former AMA Pro road racer Rob McLendon on an Altus-built Yamaha FZ-07 in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup finale at Barber Motorsports Park.
McLendon has been competing and wrenching in AFT professional flat track events in recent seasons, and also owns and runs his own flat track venue near Pensacola, Florida.
Altus Motorsports is co-owned by husband and wife George and Janette Nassaney, and the race team is managed by Janette. “We received a message from (Altus Motorsports Supersport rider Miles Thornton) that Rob was interested in riding the bike, so we contacted him and made a deal,” said George Nassaney. “Janette and I are excited to support the series and get our Altus Motorsports-built FZ-07 back on the track.”
“It was pretty cool of them to call and ask if I would like to ride their awesome bike,’ said McLendon. “I’m really excited about this opportunity and I think with my skills on the bike, as well as my mechanical and set-up ability, we should have a solid run and a real shot at finishing on the podium!”
