Record Ticket Sales For MotoAmerica Sonoma Raceway Round

Big Crowds Expected For Three-Day Event In Wine Country

SONOMA, CA (August 10, 2018) – MotoAmerica has announced that pre-event ticket sales for the Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma, round seven of the 2018 MotoAmerica Series, are up by over 30 percent for the weekend’s races, which include the premier Motul Superbike class racing on both days.

The growth in ticket sales for the Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma fall in line with MotoAmerica’s 50 percent growth over last year in both online audience and engagement.

While several of the ticket packages are sold out (Full Throttle and Early Bird), there are still multiple ticket options available for race fans, including General Admission that includes free paddock access. The VIP Full Throttle ticket package is also still available, with that option including an escorted grid walk prior to the start of both Motul Superbike races.

Chamber of Commerce weather is expected for all three days of the event, which starts today and runs through Sunday, August 12, with sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s.

The Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma will feature Friday’s practice and qualifying day and then races on both Saturday and Sunday for the hotly contested Motul Superbike class, Supersport and the Liqui Moly Junior Cup presented by RiderzLaw. The RiderzLaw Twins Cup will compete on Saturday with the RiderzLaw Stock 1000 class racing on Sunday.

In addition to the on-track action, the Cycle Gear Championship of Sonoma offers something for everybody off-track with a Carnival, games, live music and thrill shows on tap all weekend.

“We’re really looking forward to this weekend at Sonoma Raceway,” MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey said. “Ticket sales are way up so we’re expecting a big crowd and we know they will enjoy everything we have to offer while they are here, including close racing in all five of our classes.”
