Kyle Ohnsorg and Pirelli Capture 14 Wins and Eclipse Track Record at Brainerd International Raceway
Ohnsorg Emerges with Pirelli’s Fifth Bounty of 2018
ROME, Ga. (May 18, 2018) – Pirelli Tire North America congratulates Kyle Ohnsorg on capturing the brand’s fifth absolute motorcycle track record bounty of 2018, continuing the hot start to the season for Pirelli-equipped racers. The remarkable achievement took place on Sunday, May 13 during a Central Roadracing Association (CRA) event at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minnesota. Ohnsorg took home an impressive 14 race wins on the 3.1-mile, 10-turn Donnybrooke Road Course.
Ohnsorg’s absolute motorcycle track record came during the Unlimited SuperBike class where he clocked a 139.188 time on Lap 2, toppling his own previous record of 139.412. Unlike most track records that are set with the softest rear compound available, Ohnsorg showcased the versatility of Pirelli’s DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE lineup by using a 200/60-17 SC1 on the rear of his BMW S1000RR machine. On the front, he opted for an SC2 compound in 120/70-17 sizing.

Pirelli is offering the biggest bounty in the brand’s history for 2018 and Ohnsorg took home a $750 tire voucher as a result of his new record. Pirelli had six absolute motorcycle track records in 2017 and are currently one record shy from matching last year’s success with more than half of the season remaining.
