RSD Super Hooligan National Champion/ Road Racer Andy DiBrino Making American Flat Track Debut At The Daytona TT
23-year-old Andy DiBrino from Tualatin, Oregon is making his American Flat Track debut in the AFT Singles class on a Davis Fisher Racing backed #162 Honda CRF450R. DiBrino won the inaugural Roland Sands Design Super Hooligan National Championship on a Harley-Davidson Street-750 flat track bike last year by one point over former Grand National Champion, Joe Kopp, and has dabbled in DTX-style flat track since 2014. Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, he’s been able to race with top AFT Twins and Singles riders from the area during that time.
“I am very excited to finally be making my ‘official’ pro flat track debut with American Flat Track at Daytona,” said DiBrino. “I’ve never been to Daytona and I’ve been saying for the past few years I would go. It was looking like I was going to miss it again this year as I wasn’t prepared. I posted a photo on Instagram a week prior to the race saying I wasn’t going to make it, and a few hours later my friend Davis Fisher messaged me saying he has a bike for me at Daytona! I took it as a sign to make it happen, and I immediately pulled out my credit card to make travel plans and get entered.”
DiBrino is also a professional road racer, who completed two full seasons with MotoAmerica in 2015 and 2016 in the Superstock 600 Championship, claiming a 2nd place best finish at New Jersey Motorsports Park as his best result. He also won the Oregon Motorcycle Road Racing Association #1 Plate in 2017 aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1. Not to mention he has been racing motocross for over 18 years, and competed in a couple 125cc Two-Stroke Invitational races during the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Nationals last year.
“With my background in motocross, road racing and supermoto, I really feel like I am going to mesh with the TT they put together at Daytona,” DiBrino continued. “I was able to get some TT practice on my own 450 out at Brad Baker’s house over the weekend and I felt extremely good for just a day of preparation on a 450 DTX bike. I’ve been riding a lot of motocross lately, as well as my Hooligan bike a bit this year, so I think I’ll fair well against the guys who’ve been on their DTX bikes all off-season. I’d really like to thank Davis Fisher and his Dad, Rex, for giving me the opportunity to race at Daytona!”
Andy DiBrino would like to thank all of his flat track sponsors: Fox Racing, Oregon Motorcycle Attorney, See See Motorcycles, Beaverton Motorcycles, MotoStuff, ASV Inventions, Superlite Sprockets, Maxima Racing Oils, MotoSport.com, Fusion Graphix, EDR Performance, Vance & Hines, Dunlop Tires, and Latus Motors Racing.
