Yamaha Previews 2018 Daytona Bike Week Activities
New Model Displays, Demo Rides and bLU cRU Rider Autograph Opportunities Scheduled
Cypress, CA – March 8, 2018 – The 77th annual Daytona Bike Week takes place this year from March 9th through March 18th in Daytona Beach, Florida, and Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, has several exciting activities scheduled during the event. From new model displays and demo rides, to photo and autograph opportunities with the Yamaha bLU cRU Supercross riders, there will be plenty to experience in between racing action.
Daytona International Speedway – Saturday, March 10 through Saturday, March 17
Located outside of the speedway, the Yamaha “Motorcycles for Life” display will feature a lineup of 2018 models including the all-new YZ65 youth motocross bike, the new MT-07 Hyper Naked model, the 2019 Tracer 900 and Tracer 900 GT Sport Touring models, and several “Yard Built” customs. Making its public debut in the USA, the all-new 2019 NIKEN Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) motorcycle will also be on display, and Yamaha representatives will be in attendance to share information and answer questions. The Yamaha display will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM daily.
Located just a short distance from the Yamaha display area, demo ride opportunities for licensed motorcyclists will be available. As part of Yamaha’s “Motorcycles for Life” lineup, select models from the “Road” category will include:
- Cruiser – Bolt
- Sport Heritage – XSR700, XSR900 and SCR950
- Hyper Naked – MT-09 and MT-10
- Supersport – YZF-R6 and YZF-R3
Demo models from the “Tour” category will include:
- Sport Touring – FJR1300 and FJ-09
- Adventure Touring – Super Tenere
- Transcontinental Touring – Star Venture and Star Eluder
Demo rides will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM (9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, March 17). Riders must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid motorcycle license (permits are not allowed), a DOT-approved helmet, long pants, enclosed shoes, a shirt, and eye protection. In order to experience the MT-10, riders must be at least 25 years-old.
Daytona Supercross – Saturday, March 10
Stop by the Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing team transporter on Saturday afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30 PM (subject to change due to scheduling), for an autograph session with Cooper Webb and Justin Barcia. The all-new 2018 YZ65 will also be on display, and there will be an opportunity to enter the “2018 Team Replica Yamaha YZ450F Sweepstakes” that features:
FIRST PRIZE: A replica of Cooper Webb’s #2 2018 Yamaha YZ450F decked out in full Monster Energy/Yamaha Factory Racing team livery

GNCC Race Series – Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11
Hog Waller Mud Bog (440 County Road 310, Palatka, Florida) is the site for the 2018 Wild Boar GNCC races, and Yamaha will be offering demos on their Proven Off-Road Side-by-Side vehicles from 9 AM to 5 PM each day. Demo models scheduled to be available include the quiet and comfortable Wolverine X4 and pure sport YXZ1000R.
Drivers must be 21 years-old with a valid driver’s license, and wear required gear (DOT-approved helmet, gloves, eye protection / goggles, long-sleeve shirt, pants, and over-the-ankle shoes or boots).
