The MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series will race at a new venue in 2020 – Ridge Motorsports Park on the weekend of June 26-28.

The news was confirmed Saturday by Chuck Aksland, MotoAmerica Chief Operating Officer (COO), who exclusively told Roadracingworld.com, “It’s a part of the country where motorcycle road racing on the national level hasn’t been to in a long time. There’s a lot of enthusiasm up in that area. I made a visit there last year and in talking to the General Manager of the track, Tracie Schmitt, there’s a lot of good vibes up there about having an event. The racetrack is very motivated, so it’s a good fit.”

Aksland said the track had already sold the title sponsorship for the 2020 MotoAmerica event.

MotoAmerica plans to have a 10-event schedule again in 2020, but Aksland wouldn’t say which existing venue would be replaced by the event at Ridge Motorsports Park. He then added that another new venue may be also added to next season’s schedule, and “that’s the last piece I’m working on.”

Ridge Motorsports Park is a 2.47-mile-long, 40-foot-wide, 16-turn road course with significant elevation changes, including a 50-foot drop in one section, that is located southwest of Seattle, Washington, and is a relatively short drive from Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Canada. The track has hosted motorcycle club racing, track days and schools since it opened in 2011 and has recently undergone an expansion project to make it more suitable for large spectator events, like MotoAmerica.
