Cory Ventura, the 17-year-old who was the runner-up in the
2018 MotoAmerica Junior Cup Championship and the runner-up in the 2017
MotoAmerica KTM RC Cup Championship, will not be racing in the MotoAmerica
Supersport class this coming weekend at Road Atlanta.

On December 31, 2018, Omega Moto issued a press release
announcing Ventura would race a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the 2019 MotoAmerica
Supersport Championship, but speaking Thursday afternoon at Road Atlanta,
Ventura said things had fallen apart between him and the team and he would not
be racing in the 2019 season-opener.

“Basically, I was promised a lot for this year and not
everything happened,” Ventura exclusively told Roadracingworld.com. “We had our
differences, but I wish Ken [Chewey, Omega Moto Team Owner] all the best.
Hopefully, we can work something out in the future.”

“It was just a lack of communications, I guess, is what it
came down to on both ends,” said Chewey. “I’ll accept my blame for maybe not
communicating the dollar amount up front in the contract itself.”

Chewey said the contract Ventura signed made it clear that
he would have to bring sponsorship to pay for a spot on the Omega Moto team, but Chewey
also said the contract did not specify a dollar amount and he only recently made that amount known.

Cameron Petersen, meanwhile, will ride Omega Moto’s Yamaha
YZF-R1 Superbike this coming weekend at Road Atlanta.
