Uribe Saves Best For Spanish Season Finale

American Jayson Uribe rounded out his 2017 FIM CEV Repsol European Moto2 Championship campaign with a stunning 8th place finish in the season finale at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia.

The weekend started strong for Jayson who set a personal best lap of the 2.488 mile venue during Free Practice before qualifying 15th for the 19 lap encounter.

An aggressive start saw the #36 rider pass five of his rivals in the opening two laps before a consistent pace saw him maintain his position, keeping him in touch with the group ahead.

Crossing the line 8th, his best result of the season, was the perfect way to sign off another Spanish season for Uribe who has today announced that he will remain with the AGR Team in 2018.

Jayson Uribe: “I’m very happy with the weekend! It was a great way to finish off the 2017 racing season. I can’t thank my AGR team enough for all of their help and support. The weekend started off well. I immediately went half a second faster than my previous best lap from the test on Halloween, and we made some positive steps with the bike set up. Saturday was difficult. We had some trouble with the changes we made on Friday night, as well as some bad luck with a set of sketchy tyres. We ended up going 0.4s slower than my best time of Friday. For Sunday we went back to the settings we knew worked well, and then made some minor adjustments just to fine tune the bike. I had a decent start, and I knew that the first 2 laps would be very important. I was aggressive and fought my way into 10th. Two riders crashed in front of me, which moved me to 8th at the chequered flag. With 2017 done and dusted I am happy to announce that I will race again with AGR in 2018! I am confident in our ability to fight for the top 5 next year and am grateful for the opportunity to remain with such a great team”
