Professional motorcycle road racer Shelina Moreda has been named a brand ambassador for beauty products company CoverGirl.
Moreda posted the news October 5 on her social media feed, writing: “Want to know the huge secret I’ve been having to keep?? It’s crazy to finally get to say this out loud… I, Shelina Moreda, International Pro Road Racer, am the newest COVERGIRL! Working with this amazing beauty company is a dream come true for me. As most of you who watch me race know, I go on track with my makeup on. My makeup sets me apart from the guys when I’m geared up on the grid and all you can see are my eyes peering out of my helmet. Having my makeup on makes me feel pretty. More importantly, it makes me feel strong, and confident. As a female athlete who competes in the male dominated world of racing, I’m proud and stoked to represent a brand who allows me to stand up and say that it is powerful to feel pretty. Follow COVERGIRL to join me on this exciting journey!! #COVERGIRLMADE #shezracing #shezcovergirl“
Moreda has raced with MotoAmerica in the Superstock 600 class and has actually had greater success racing Internationally. In 2016, she finished on the podium while racing a Splitlath EBR 1190 in a Chinese National Superbike race. In 2015, she co-rode a Moriwaki Honda CBR600RR with Melissa Paris and went from 51st on the grid to 26th at the finish of the Suzuka 4-Hours endurance race. Also in 2015, Moreda won a Losail Asian Road Racing Series race in Qatar.
Moreda’s accomplishments on the racetrack have led to her being asked to instruct at multiple FIM Women’s Road Racing Training Camps.
When she’s not road racing, Moreda runs a riding school, Girlz MotoCamps, in her home city of Petaluma, California.
The announcement of Moreda being named a “CoverGirl” has been widely covered in the mainstream media, with reports already appearing on the websites of Elle, InStyle and Allure.
