Ryan Sutton Captures Pirelli’s Third Track Bounty of the 2017 Season at The Ridge Motorsports Park

ROME, Ga. (June 7, 2017) – Today, Pirelli Tires North America announced that Ryan “Chromie” Sutton captured the brands third track bounty of 2017 by setting a new absolute motorcycle track record at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington. The accomplishment took place during the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association’s (WMRRA) third round of the season on Saturday, May 27th. Sutton, who was competing aboard a 2016 BMW 1000RR, set the record just one week after Adam Robarts claimed two track bounties for Pirelli at Mission Raceway Park.

“I’m very appreciative of the support I’ve received from DJ Griffin at Moto G Racing in 2017,” said Ryan Sutton. “The Pirelli DIABLO™ SUPERBIKE Slicks are amazing tires and I’m looking forward to continuing my progression each time out on the track and have my sights set on capturing more track records this year.”

Sutton’s No. 51 BMW motorcycle was equipped with Pirelli’s DIABLO SUPERBIKE Slicks, featuring a SC1 front and SC0 rear tire. He used a blistering pace to lay down a new best lap time of 1:38.709 on Lap 7 of the Formula Ultra race and eclipse the previous track record of 1:38.807 that was held by Robarts. He was leading the race until a mistake sent him off of the track on Lap 3, eventually rejoining the race and mounting an impressive charge to earn a hard-fought sixth place at the checkered flag.

“I have been fortunate enough to work with Chromie [Ryan Sutton] over the years, dating back to my time servicing the Northwest region,” said Oscar Solis, Pirelli Road Racing Manager. “It’s a pleasure to see that Ryan is still progressing and settings track records. The BMW is a new motorcycle for him this year and I expect him to continue getting stronger and more comfortable with time on the bike.”
