Vortex Racing takes over EK Chain North America

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Vortex Racing, the industry’s leading sprocket manufacturer, and EK Chain, Japan’s premier chain manufacturer, are pleased to announce that effective immediately EK Japan has appointed Vortex Racing as its exclusive agent in North America. The EK USA offices in Las Vegas have closed and all EK operations in North America are now operating from Vortex’s new Salt Lake City headquarters.

The seamless transition took place over Memorial Day weekend with EK’s North American inventory being moved into Vortex’s Salt Lake City warehouse, unpacked, shelved and put into Vortex’s sales system. North American EK customers and support riders won’t miss a beat.

“We are extremely pleased to make this announcement. Vortex is a name synonymous with racing and quality in our industry, just like EK. We cannot think of a better company to become our exclusive agent in North America,” says Ryukichi Sato of EK USA, Inc.

Matt Griffin, the president of Vortex, shares Ryukichi’s enthusiasm, stating, “EK is the premier chain company coming out of Japan. Their chain is second to none and I personally feel that this is a match made in heaven: sprockets and chain, they just go together. And, we couldn’t be more pleased to join forces with EK. EK is already the manufacturer of all our Vortex 2.0 chain and we are very pleased with the quality. Having spent time in Japan at the EK factory, I was thoroughly impressed with their technology and enthusiasm for improving the product.”
