MotoGP and MTV join forces in Finland for 2017

New deal With MTV to broadcast MotoGP races and Qualifying live across country this season

Dorna and MTV Finland are delighted to announce a new deal that will see the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship broadcast live across the country throughout 2017. The new agreement sees all races and qualifying sessions this season shown live on C More linear pay TV channels, as well as coverage being available on the SVoD service. The World Championship will also benefit from coverage on MTV3 news programmes and on the mtv.fl website.

The Finnish GP at the KymiRing is set to join the calendar in the future, and the coverage will give special focus to Finnish participants such as Moto3™ rookie Patrik Pulkinnen and Red Bull KTM Ajo Team Manager Aki Ajo–making it perfect timing for this new agreement to get in gear.

Johannes Leppänen, SVP, Consumer Business of MTV, declared: “We are delighted to be able to add the world’s most popular motorbike series to our offering. Our strategy is to offer premium sports that matter the most for the Finnish audience. The Finns love motorsports and MotoGP is one of the leading sports brands in the world. Motorsport is a cornerstone in our portfolio so it is a perfect fit in many ways”

Manel Arroyo, Managing Director at Dorna Sports, commented: “We are pleased to be able to announce a deal with MTV Finland for MotoGP this season. With a GP in Finland on the horizon, such successful Finnish participation in the Championship and the long history of passion for motorsport in the country, the time could not be better to start a cooperation with MTV so that viewers have the opportunity to follow all the action from the World Championship on Finland´s leading pay TV channel.“
