Times of uncertainty might be an opportunity to play with creativity. With motorcycle racing on hold due to the current global situation, a way to enjoy racing can be through gaming. This is why Dorna Sports – through their well-known MotoGP™ eSport platform – has organised the #VirtualMotoGP, an online competition featuring some of their riders in a virtual battle for gold.

The fourth race of the Virtual MotoGP season will ‘take place’ this weekend at the Misano World Circuit, and for the first time the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup will join in. Nine riders will compete on board their Energica Ego Corsa ‘digital machines’ on five laps.

Some of the aforementioned riders were able to test their skills around Misano during the ‘Couch Lap’ challenge of the Energica Electrifying Podcast, which worked as a sort of preview for the upcoming race. Here is a quick look at the stunning lap put together on Episode 3 by the reigning MotoE World Cup champion Matteo Ferrari (Team Trentino Gresini MotoE).

This week’s episode of the podcast, which will be published today at 15:00 GMT+2, features Dynavolt IntactGP’s Dominique Aegerter, who is looking forward to making his debut both in the Virtual Race and in the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup after a successful test debut at Jerez de la Frontera earlier this year. The ‘Electrifying Podcast’ can be found on Energica’s YouTube, Facebook and Instagram pages and accounts.
