BMW Motorrad USA Announces Pricing, Product Updates — Including $4750 MSRP For G 310 R

Editorial Note: BMW Motorrad USA announced today at the Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, California, that the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of the 2017 G 310 R would be $4,750 and the G 310 R will have a reduced dealer destination charge of $245, compared with the normal destination charge of $495.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – November 18, 2016…BMW Motorrad USA is pleased to announce pricing and product updates for the following model-year 2017 motorcycles. Updates for the remaining BMW models will be announced at a later date.

Pricing Changes for Model Year 2017

Base MSRP does not change for any of the existing models included in this communication, but some of the package pricing has been revised due to the addition of equipment. Details are provided below.

Technical updates for Model Year 2017

With the exception of the Scooters, all of the models included in this bulletin have received technical updates to meet EU4 emissions requirements. The Scooters received these revisions previously with the MY16 model update.

MY 2017 C 650 Sport and C 650 GT Scooters

  • No changes.

MY 2017 F 700 GS

Additional Standard Features

  • Ride-by-wire for improved response and control.
  • Rain and Road ride modes.
  • Improved easy-to-read instrumentation design w/ ride modes information.

Packages

  • 430 Safety Package has been replaced with 235 Dynamic Package. 416 ESA, 530 TPM, and 650 ASC remain as package contents, but new option 224 Ride Modes Pro with Enduro mode has been added with no increase to the package price ($795 MSRP).

Colors

  • NA5 Racing Red ($0) and N1M Singapore Grey Metallic Matte ($150 MSRP)replace N0T Sakhir Orange Metallic and N0U Mineral Grey Metallic.

MY 2017 F 800 GS

Additional Standard Features

  • Ride-by-wire for improved response and control.
  • Rain and Road ride modes.
  • Improved easy-to-read instrumentation design w/ ride modes information.

Packages

  • 235 Dynamic Package has been enhanced. 416 ESA and 650 ASC remain as package contents, but 218 Off-road Mode has been replaced with new option 224 Ride Modes Pro with Enduro/Enduro Pro modes. The package price increases by $25, from $675 to $700 MSRP.

861 Style 1 Package with color NB5 Light White has been enhanced to include an aluminum engine guard, engine protection bars, and GS Trophy tapes. 861 is now being referred to as Special Model F 800 GS Trophy. Pricing increases by $300 from $150 to $450 MSRP.

Colors

  • N50 Ostra Grey Metallic Matte ($200 MSRP) replaces Racing Blue Metallic Matte.

MY 2017 F 800 GS Adventure (Model Update)

Additional Standard Features

  • Ride-by-wire for improved response and control.
  • Rain and Road ride modes.
  • Adjustable brake and clutch levers.
  • Improved easy-to-read instrumentation design w/ ride modes information.

Packages

  • 240 Enduro Package has been replaced with 235 Dynamic Package. 530 TPM remains as package contents, but 416 ESA has been added and 218 Off-road Mode has been replaced with new option 224 Ride Modes Pro with Enduro/Enduro Pro modes. The package price increases by $300, from $400 to $700 MSRP.
  • As 416 ESA has been added to the 240 Dynamic Package, the ZLR Active Package with 416 ESA and 138 LED Auxiliary Lights has been eliminated. 138 is still available as a single option.
  • New 861 Style 1 package ($250 MSRP) with white frame/tapes and red/black seat w/ red stitching) is now available with new color N0L Racing Red Matte.

Colors

  • N0Y Catalano Grey ($0) and N0L Racing Red Matte (included in new 861 Style 1 package) replace NA2 Kalamata Metallic Matte and 751 Alpine White.

MY 2017 R nineT Scrambler

Standard Features vs. R nineT

  • 19” front wheel vs. 17”.
  • 4 ½ lbs lighter @ 485 lbs.
  • 32.3” seat vs. 30.9”.
  • Different handlebars, more upright.
  • High exhaust.
  • Wheelbase: 60” vs 58.2”.
  • Less expensive due to various cost-saving measures:o Traditional telescopic forks with gaiters vs. upside-down telescopic forks.o Basic speedometer vs. speedo w/ rev counter and multifunction display.
  • o Cast wheels vs. cross spoke wheels (but optional cross spoke wheels are available).
  • o Steel tank vs. aluminum (but optional brushed aluminum tanks are available).

  • 17A Aluminum Fuel Tank 1 (hand brushed aluminum with sanded weld): $950 MSRP.

  • Higher aluminum fuel tank prices vs. R nineT, which has a standard painted aluminum tank vs. a steel tank.
  • 340 Chrome Exhaust ($150 MSRP).
  • 633 Off-road tires ($0).
  • 650 ASC ($400 MSRP).
  • 771 Cross Spoke Wheels ($500 MSRP).
  • 792 High Seat – Brown ($0).

MY 2017 R 1200 R

Options/Packages

  • 5AC ABS Pro (cornering-optimized ABS) is now included as part of 224 Ride Modes Pro, which is also included in the 238 Dynamic Package and ZPP Premium Package. Although European models include a Dynamic Brake Light with ABS Pro, this light will not be available in the US market. 182 DTC continues to be included in 224, 238, and ZPP. Pricing has been revised as follows to account for the added value of ABS Pro:
  • 224 (+$100 = $450 MSRP) / ZPP (+$100 = $3,500) / 238 (+$50 = $725 MSRP).
  • 861 Style 1 package remains at the MY16 price ($500 MSRP) but the red frame has been replaced by a Cordoba Blue frame and the package is now only available with new color N1F Light White/Cordoba Blue.

Colors

  • N1F Light White/Cordoba Blue replaces NB5 Light White and is only available with 861.
  • NA5 Racing Red ($0) replaces NA1 Cordoba Blue.

MY 2017 R 1200 RS

Options/Packages

  • 5AC ABS Pro (cornering-optimized ABS) is now included as part of 224 Ride Modes Pro, which is also included in ZPP Premium Package. Although European models include a Dynamic Brake Light with ABS Pro, this light will not be available in the US market.
  • 182 DTC continues to be included in 224 and ZPP. Pricing has been revised as follows to account for the added value of ABS Pro:
  • 224 (+$100 = $450 MSRP) / ZPP (+$100 = $3,275).
  • 861 Style 1 package replaces 862 Style 2 package and is offered for the same price ($425 MSRP). Content is the same, but the grey frame has been replaced by a red frame and the package is now only available with new color N1N Light Grey Metallic / Magellan Grey Metallic Matte.

Colors

  • N1N Light Grey Metallic / Magellan Grey Metallic Matte replaces Granite Grey Metallic Matte and is only offered with 861 Style 1 package.

MY 2017 R 1200 RT

  • 5AC ABS Pro (cornering-optimized ABS) is now included as part of 224 Ride Modes Pro, which is only offered in the 238 Dynamic Package and ZPP Premium Package.
