MotoAmerica: Gagne Wins Superbike Superpole At Ridge

Monster Energy Attack Performance Yamaha’s Jake Gagne captured pole position for the MotoAmerica HONOS Superbike races this weekend at Ridge Motorsports Park, in Shelton, Washington.

Gagne’s 1:40.667 on his YZF-R1 around the challenging 2.47-mile, 19-turn road course was the fastest legal lap time.

Gagne’s teammate and the current Championship point leader Cameron Beaubier did a 1:39.753, but at the conclusion of that lap Beaubier was unable to navigate the Turn One chicane. By rule, Beaubier’s 1:39.753 and the following lap’s time were disallowed, and he ended up second-fastest with a 1:40.902 he did on a race-compound tire.

M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Bobby Fong earned the third and final spot on the front row with a time of 1:41.199 on his GSX-R1000.
