Jason Farrell Sets the Pace with Motorcycle Track Record on Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike Slicks at Autobahn Country Club
New, Larger DIABLO™ Superbike 125/70-17 Front and 200/65-17 Rear Sizes Take Farrell to his Second Track Record of the Season
ROME, Ga. – Pirelli Tire North America congratulates Farrell Performance’s Jason Farrell on capturing the brand’s third absolute motorcycle track record bounty of 2020. Farrell set the new track record on the North Course at Autobahn Country Club during the Championship Cup Series (CCS) Mid-West Roadracing Championship. The success came while using Pirelli’s new, larger Pirelli DIABLO™ Superbike slick sizes that have been derived directly from Pirelli’s involvement as the sole tire supplier for the FIM MOTUL World Superbike Championship.
“Jason continues to show off the performance of the new, larger sized DIABLO™ Superbike tires,” said Oscar Solis, road racing manager, Pirelli. “His pace at the beginning of the weekend was impressive and it continued to improve as the weekend went on. Everyone at Pirelli is excited to see how he continues to grow as a rider and performs in the future.”
Farrell’s lap record of 1:00.619 was set during the Unlimited Superbike race, topping Jody Barry’s track record of 1:02.579 that was set in 2018 on Pirelli slicks. Farrell’s Kawasaki NINJA® ZX™-10R motorcycle was equipped with Pirelli’s DIABLO™ Superbike 125/70-17 SC2 front and 200/65-17 SC0 rear slicks.
“It feels great to break my second track record this season,” said Farrell. “The new Pirelli 125/70 front and 200/65 rear tires deliver an awesome amount of side and drive grip. I’ve pretty much been on the same setup from my last track record and the bike has been handling incredible. The tire wear has been phenomenal! I was able to click off laps under the previous track record and keep my times within .6 seconds per lap until we hit traffic later in the race. Thanks to Pirelli for giving me tires that provide such great confidence to keep going faster.”
Pirelli continues to offer a tire credit prize for setting a new motorcycle track record and Farrell became the first rider to capture more than one track record this season.
