BMW Motorrad USA unveiled a new K 1600 Bagger cruiser developed specifically for the American market to journalists today at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California.

The K 1600 B, as it’s officially known, shares much of the core of the K 1600 tourers, including a 1649cc Inline Six engine that is rated at 160 horsepower in other K 1600 models.

The K 1600 B is due to reach dealerships in the first half of 2017.

BMW Motorad representatives said they are looking to grow worldwide sales to 200,000 and to double U.S. sales to 30,000 units by 2020. To reach that mark in the U.S., BMW plans to increase its dealer network from 1250 to 1500 and offer more motorcycles aimed at Americans, like a family of models based on the G 310 platform.
