Newton Near Perfect At NOLA

Just three days after his return from China, Jay Newton of Newton Racing, LLC, was back on track with WERA at NOLA Motorsports Park. Returning to race with WERA for the first time in over two years, he was hoping for a stellar day of racing. Newton would also be getting reacquainted with NOLA.

With no seat time there in the recent past and no set-up time on his bike, Jay was looking forward to the practice sessions Sunday morning, September 25th. His track time was cut very short though, due to an electrical issue on his Yamaha R6. After a quick change of the rectifier and a new battery, he set out for the first race of the day which was 600/C Superstock Expert. He battled up front, but with the lack of set-up time, he relinquished the lead and took P2 at the checkers.

This was the only race where he did not take the top step of the box. Newton, aboard his Monkey Pumps / Robert Talbot-backed Yamaha R6, won 750/B Superstock Expert, 600/C Superbike Expert and 750/B Superbike Expert, thereby ending the weekend in New Orleans near perfectly.

Look for more great results from Newton Racing very soon.
