Round 4 of the Law Tigers’ Sandia Motorcycle Roadracing Championships hosted by SMRI was held at Sandia Motor Speedway on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Mikey Shreve stretched his lead in SMRI’s premiere Unlimited Grand Prix class to 36 points over second place Chazz Neiderman with a victory in the class. He also claimed the top step of the podium in Expert Formula 1000 and Expert Open Superbike classes where he leads both championship chases as well. Mikey began his day by claiming pole position in the ULGP qualifying session and never looked back despite the excellent racing that took place behind him.

Dylan Beck stepped up winning four races on the day including Amateur GTU and Amateur GTO as well as Novice GTU and Novice GTO. At this pace it will be Beck’s only year in the Novice ranks as his promotion to expert is eminent. Beck leads all four championships!

Edda Tully won the Formula Femme class for the fourth consecutive event this year stretching her championship lead to 24 points over new racer Rachel Buser, with Lisa Garcia a further 35 points in arrears. Rachel is doing well in her first full year with the club claiming podium honors in Novice GTO and GTU as well.

Chazz Neiderman pulled ahead in the Expert Middleweight Superbike battle by 25 points in Kelcey Walker’s absence with Lance Echols earning the silver and Ken Kilness the bronze. Chazz looks to be in prime position to claim this championship if he continues to perform at his usual high level!

Round 5 of the Law Tigers’ Sandia Motorcycle Roadracing Championship will be held on September 24 at Sandia Motor Speedway. For more information please visit www.smri-racing.org.
