CMRA and USNE at NOLA Motorsports Park This Weekend

This weekend, June 17-19, 2016, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is back in action at NOLA Motorsports Park, located in Avondale, Louisiana. This will be the only stop for the CMRA this season at the very fast 2.75 mile, clockwise 16-turn road course with a 3360 foot long front straight. In addition, CMRA will also be hosting Round 2 of the U.S. National Endurance Series (USNE) this weekend. The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, June 17.

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Lightweight sprint races, including the Rainbox Sox Racing – Junior Motard race for our youngest racers, ages 8-12 years old. Then it’s Round 1 of the Solo 30 races, with Solo 30 HW and MW sponsored by Island Racing Services, and the day concludes with the a 6 Hour CMRA Championship Endurance race, which will combine CMRA and the 2nd round of the U.S. National Endurance Series (USNE) featuring the Remember Brooks Gremmels – A Superbike and Promomin/eni Oil – C Superbike Endurance classes.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the M4 Exhaust / P1 Racing Formula 1 Expert class ($500), Century Trucks and Vans – D Superbike Expert ($525) and Formula 2 Expert ($225), RaceworX – A Superstock Expert ($165), and Georgetown Diesel and Complete Automotive – Formula 40 HW Expert ($150). The Racer’s Race commemorative t-shirt and $50 award is presented to the racer who overcomes the most obstacles during the weekend to complete their races.

Sunday’s schedule also features the new KTM RC390 Masters and KTM RC390 Cup classes. The RC Cup class is for racers age 14-22, the RC390 Masters class is for racers age 23 and up. This is the first CMRA event for the KTM-promoted classes. If you bought a new 2015 or 2016 KTM RC 390 between March 1st and May 31st, 2016, KTM will supply you with five vouchers to race the classes for free. Without the qualifying purchase, the fee is $50.

Live timing and scoring is available for all the races via the Race Monitor App on mobile devices and online at cmraracing.com/timing.html . Keep up with the action if you can’t make it out to the track!

Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and close at 11:00 p.m. We race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is $30 on Thursday or Friday, $25 on Saturday, and just $20 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $10 for entry on either Saturday or Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting. Bring your cooler or visit the restaurant located in the NOLA Motorsport Park Event Center.
