         Last November the GSX-RR became the first Suzuki four-stroke to win a Grand Prix World Championship. This was a huge achievement for the Hamamatsu factory, which had endured mostly grim failure with the bike’s predecessor.

        Suzuki’s V4 GSV-R raced from 2002 to 2011, scoring just one race win. When Suzuki withdrew from MotoGP at the end of the 2011 season, many thought the company would never return, considering how much it spent over 10 seasons for so little return. In fact, Suzuki engineers started work on the GSX-RR almost immediately. This time they built an Inline Four, because that’s what the company sells to street riders…
