Rodio Racing commits to SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup for 2021
For the third year in a row, Gus Rodio (#96) will be contesting all nine rounds of the SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup aboard his Kawasaki Ninja 400.
2020 was cut short for Gus as he suffered a broken femur at The Ridge.
“For sure, that didn’t go the way I wanted, but it made me even hungrier,” Gus said. Once his leg healed and he received Doctor’s approval, Gus immediately started training again.
“We’ve made multiple trips down south this off-season training on motards, minis and a bit of motocross,” he said. “I’m feeling 100% and confident going into this season.”
Rodio Racing knows road racing is a team sport, so the team is reassembling for 2021.
Crew Chief Artie Meeker commented, “I’m really impressed with all the seat time Kevin (team owner) is providing for Gus. The kid is working real hard both on and off track too!” Artie has been with the team since their first season. “It’s definitely going to be a great season for Gus. He deserves to be pushing toward the front again and I’m going to guarantee a spot on the box this year.”
Also returning to the team this year are Frank Angel (data tech) and Mike Marthaler (wheel man and lifter of heavy things).
“We’re all enthusiastic for the coming season,” Frank said. “We know Gus has been putting in the work and we’ll give him the best bike we can.”
“I know we’ll be busy this season but me especially given the switch to white wheels,” Mike joked. “Gus likes to stand out, and with the eyes up front and those fresh white hoops, we’ll be able to pick him out for sure!”
The MotoAmerica season kicks off on 4/30 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia.
