A strong storm ravaged through the MotoAmerica paddock at VIRginia International Raceway just prior to the start of Supersport/Superstock 600 Race One on Saturday.

Shortly after the Supersport/Superstock 600 field completed their sighting lap and took their positions on the pre-grid, the storm hit at the track with heavy rain and extremely strong winds.

The winds quickly decimated many of the teams’ pop-up canopies along pit lane, and the winds were so strong that they ripped the Y.E.S./Graves Yamaha canopy right over the top of the semi-truck it was mounted to, destroying it.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, the storm quickly left the area, and racing was able to continue, after a short delay.
