        “In 2005 we retired from racing. We had won seven straight WERA National Endurance Championships, running 10 races each season, spread out across the country, requiring about 25,000 miles of driving per year. 

        “The races ranged from four to 24 hours long. The 649cc GSX-R600 Suzukis we were using had an engine life expectancy of 16 hours. This meant laborious engine rebuilds on the weekends where we weren’t bleary eyed from 6,000 mile van drives. But the straw that eventually broke our back of resolve was the curse of high expectations…”
