CMRA and USNE at Texas World Speedway This Weekend

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association will be in action this coming weekend March 19-20, 2016 at Texas World Speedway, just south of Bryan/College Station, Texas, on Highway 6. One of only seven remaining Super Speedways in the US and composed of two road courses: a 1.8-mile short course, and a 2.9-mile long course, and both will be utilized this weekend.

Red Bull will be out all weekend with the MXT military truck, handing out product samples, streaming race feed during the day, and keeping the party going Saturday night when the Red Bull Mini Moto will run. Teams of two riders will compete on Red Bull Honda 50’s. The winning team gets Moto GP Tickets to the Red Bull MotoGP at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, April 8-10, 2016. You must be 18 years and older to compete in the Red Bull Mini Moto.

The weekend activities begin at 7:00 am Friday with a CMRA license school, racer practice, and street rider track day provided by Lone Star Track Days (www.lstd.com). CMRA Registration and Tech Inspection will be open from 3:00 – 6:00 pm.

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Lightweight Sprint races, including the Honda/Four81-sponsored Grom Challenge, Aces High Racing – Formula 8, and Rainbow Sox Racing-sponsored Junior Motard class for the youngest racers, ages 8-12 years old.

The combined first round of the CMRA Championship Endurance and US National Endurance Series, an 8-hour race, begins promptly at 10:45 a.m. on the 2.9-mile course, featuring the Remember Brook Gremmels – A Superbike and Promomin/eni – C Superbike classes. A trophy presentation and meet and greet is a welcome finish to the full day of racing.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship Sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the M4 Exhaust / P1 Racing – Formula 1 Expert class. In addition to a cash purse totaling $5,000 paid out to the top Formula 1 Expert finishers over the course of the 2016 season, a prize of $100 for the first 600cc machine to cross the line in this race is also awarded every weekend.

A few other purse paying classes include: Century Trucks and Vans – D Superbike Expert ($525) and Formula 2 Expert ($225), South Central Race Center – C Superstock Expert ($185), and 212Decals.com – A Superbike Expert ($150). The AG Horn-sponsored “Go Girl” award returns for the second year. The $100 cash award is presented to the female racer who has the best combined finishes of the weekend in at least four races. Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Thursday and Friday, $20 on Saturday, and just $15 on Sunday. There is a $5 wristband refund for participants leaving Saturday night – turn in your wristband at the gate as you leave. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting.
