CCS racer Scott Robertson, of The Villages, Florida, died November 29 after crashing during a track day event at Jennings GP. He was 51.

According to sources at the scene, no one witnessed Robertson’s crash, but the crash occurred at relatively low speed and Robertson hit nothing other than the ground.

Jennings GP safety workers responded to the scene and found Robertson had already passed away. Local law enforcement officials were then called in to conduct an investigation.

A call to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department was not returned by post time.

Jennings GP refused to talk to Roadracingworld.com about the incident.

The remainder of the track day was cancelled by its organizers, Melillimoto Ducati.

Robertson, an insurance agent, had raced with CCS since 2005, and in 2008 he won the CCS Florida GT Lights Expert Championship and placed sixth in the CCS Florida overall Championship, according to CCS Florida’s Henry DeGouw.

More details will be posted as they become available.
