World Superbike: Lecuona Injured In First Test With Honda

© 2021, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc. From a press release issued By Team HRC:

Work will resume after the winter holidays for Iker Lecuona

For Iker Lecuona, the first World Superbike test with Team HRC at the Jerez de la Frontera track in Spain came to an end midway through the second of three days, following a very satisfying opening day of intense work during which the riders began to get a feel for both their CBR1000RR-R FIREBLADE and the category.

After hitting his left hand in a fall at turn 12, the last right-hand corner, Iker was taken to the medical centre and then Jerez hospital for a thorough check-up. Tests have excluded any serious injuries, but a fracture to the little finger on his left hand means that the Spanish rider will sit out tomorrow’s final day of testing which will go ahead as planned with team-mate Xavi Vierge.

Doctors will check on Iker’s finger again in the next few days.
