Herfoss and Stauffer Fire into Action for Round 5

Round 5 of the Australasian Superbike Championship this weekend brings us to the business end of the racing season with Honda still leading.

#3 Troy Herfoss heads into Round 5 at Wakefield Park with an 11 point lead in the FX-Superbike Championship to be held on Saturday. Herfoss also leads the Swann Insurance Superbike Championship by 3 points ahead of Maxwell and is fiercely determined to extend that lead. “Wakefield Park will be a strong event for Honda if we remain focused. The previous event brought good results and kept us in the lead, but it was a challenging weekend. I am excited to race this weekend; I know that having the support of my family and friends out there will make a huge difference. Our recent test showed us we have every reason to be competitive at the front of the field and win races.”

Team Honda Racing held a 2 day test at Wakefield Park recently and both Herfoss and Stauffer were impressed with what they were able to get out of the CBR1000RR SP in the lead up to this weekend’s event at the track.

After a solid effort at Queensland Raceway for Round 4 of the championship, Stauffer is keen to get out on track at Wakefield Park knowing the Honda will be extremely competitive. “Wakefield Park suits the CBR1000RR SP as it is quite a technical track and the chassis of the Honda comes to the fore. I had a good event at the previous round, but I need to make up some solid points in the championship in Round 5 so I will definitely be looking to win races.”

#2 Jamie Stauffer

Team Principal, Paul Free says his team is rock solid heading into the event. “I feel confident in the work the team has put in and with the set-up of the CBR1000RR SP going into the weekend. The test days at the circuit were invaluable at this stage in the championship and I know both riders are well prepared for a fantastic weekend of racing. I can’t wait to see how the event unfolds.”
