​More On The Spectator Attendance At The 2015 Red Bull Indianapolis GP

The three-day attendance figure for the 2015 Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix was 145,558, according to Dorna, in spite of a forecast calling for a significant chance of rain on Sunday.

That’s the most spectators the event has drawn since 2009, when it attracted 146,680 fans over three days. In 2008, the event’s inaugural year, 174,052 spectators came through the gates.

The 2015 Red Bull Indianapolis GP drew more spectators than any MotoGP event so far at Circuit of The Americas and more than any Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca since MotoGP returned in 2005 and drew 153,653 spectators.

The 2015 Red Bull Indianapolis GP was the fifth-largest MotoGP event out of the 10 held so far this year and larger than the events at:

Losail International Circuit, in Qatar (19,500)

Circuit of The Americas, in Austin, Texas, USA (119,673)

In 2014, the Red Bull Indianapolis GP drew 132,817 spectators and was the eighth-largest out of 18 races held during the year. It was larger than the spectator attendance at:
