INDIANAPOLIS, Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015 – Nick Fradiani, the winner of Season 14 of “American Idol,” will sing the National Anthem prior to the Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Aug. 9 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“This year has been a whirlwind for me and the chance to sing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is yet another thrill,” Fradiani said. “It’s going to be a great Sunday in Indianapolis.”

After Fradiani performs and after the race, he and the rest of the top 5 from “American Idol” Season 14 will perform up close and personal at “American Idol Live!” in the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre in downtown Indianapolis. Tickets are available at www.livenation.com.

“Countless budding young stars have come through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, though usually on the racetrack,” said J. Douglas Boles, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president. “On Sunday, we’ll have a new star on the microphone singing. We’re looking forward to hearing Nick.”

Fradiani grew up in suburban Connecticut, the oldest child of a teacher and a musician. His father was his musical tour guide, introducing him to the music of The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John and Tom Petty, and giving him a first guitar.

Fradiani gained regional fame while fronting a band called Beach Avenue, which sold 20,000 singles on iTunes and appeared on television. With that success, Fradiani turned to music full-time and decided to try out for “American Idol.”

Now, as the champion, he’s headlining the Idol tour, traveling the country to promote his first single “Beautiful Life” (written by Chris Carrabba of “Dashboard Confessional”) and working on his first album for Big Machine Records.

The Red Bull Indianapolis GP features a full weekend of racing from Aug. 7-9.
