TEAM TRACTION SET FOR SCOTTISH BATTLE AT KNOCKHILL
Team Traction Control are ready to roll as the Motorpoint British Supersport and Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championships reach Knockhill in Scotland this weekend (3/4/5 July) and after a brace of podiums last time, are hunting more.
In the Supersport class, Andy Reid and James Rispoli celebrated podium finishes and are bidding to add to their tally this weekend to push their way up the standings. It’s set to be a tough weekend for Reid after fracturing his heel bone in a crash at Snetterton, but he is typically determined to do the best job possible to keep his campaign on track. Rispoli meanwhile wants to celebrate American Independence Day this weekend in style.
Joe Francis currently holds third position in the Superstock standings and after another third place finish at Snetterton last time out, the Chester rider is eager to battle for his first win of the season.
Rispoli said: “The team and I are excited for Knockhill this weekend. We are coming off a great week of work and with some momentum. I personally like the track and would love to have another solid race week where I can capitalize and bring some additional points home. I would like to dedicate this race weekend to everyone back home in America as they join me in celebrating our Independence Day.”
Reid said: “I am feeling better, although still obviously not back to full fitness with the injury as it has only been two weeks. I have been passed fit to ride by the medical team this morning and I have been doing everything possible to be back and ready for this weekend. I will have to take it as it comes but you know that I will always be pushing!”
Francis said: “It is definitely going to be tough and close at the front this weekend, so we will see what we can do and suss it out from there. We need to get a good set-up early in the free practice so we are ready for qualifying as it is so important here – we need to be on the front two rows for sure. I think it’s going to be a tough battle at the front so if I can get in that mix then that will be great!”
