ATLANTA (June 12, 2015) – Bobby Fong and his #50 Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R are on provisional pole after Friday’s MotoAmerica Supersport qualifying session at the Triumph Superbike Challenge. Fong beat the field at the 17-turn Barber Motorsports Park with a time of 1:27.771, besting his closest competitor by 0.176.
“We changed the bike pretty dramatically for the qualifying session and my Latus Motors Racing / Castrol / Triumph Daytona 675R is feeling very comfortable on the track,” said Bobby Fong. “I feel like we can go a bit faster, but overall I’m confident for tomorrow.”
The 50-minute qualifying saw Fong on top of the leaderboard for the majority of the session. Temperatures were in the high 80 degrees as Fong put in his fastest lap with just under five minutes left. The final grid for this weekend’s Supersport races will be determined after Saturday’s second qualifying session with the combined best time being used.
