American Motorcyclist Association encourages motorcyclists to Go Ride!

AMA Go Ride! Month celebrates motorcycling as a fun, healthy way to see the country

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — With another long winter in our rearview mirrors, the American Motorcyclist Association encourages motorcyclists, both new and experienced, to accelerate into the riding season during AMA Go Ride! Month in April.

“AMA Go Ride! Month is our annual reminder that motorcycling is the best way to experience this great country,” said AMA Chief Operations Officer Jeff Massey. “Whether you prefer the open highway, twisty backroads or forest trails, enjoying your route on two wheels is guaranteed to deliver more fun and adventure.”

Throughout April, the AMA will post contests for cool prizes from AMA Business Members and member-benefit partners on social media, including www.facebook.com/americanmotorcyclist and on the @ama_riding Twitter and Instagram accounts, using the hashtags #AMAGoRideMonth and #AMABikeNight.

“This month, we’re also pleased to introduce AMA Bike Nights at Cycle Gear,” Massey said. “These events provide a destination where members can enjoy good food, drink, music and fun with friends. Thanks to Cycle Gear’s support, we’re also able to reward all AMA members who join, renew or bring a friend to join at these events with some cool incentives.”

Those who join or renew with the AMA at a Cycle Gear location during AMA Go Ride! Month get a free AMA patch and an AMA koozie. AMA members who bring a friend to join also receive a free Stockton 15-in-one utility tool. AMA-chartered club representatives can earn even more cool stuff. All AMA members can enjoy great discounts on product from Cycle Gear, ranging from 10 percent to 20 percent off regularly priced items. For details about AMA Bike Nights at Cycle Gear, see www.americanmotorcyclist.com/amabikenight.

For AMA members, the April issue of American Motorcyclist magazine includes articles on trip planning, bike preparation, rider training and group riding tips, as well as information on premier AMA-sanctioned rides and rallies for 2015, including:

The AMA Vintage Grand Tour that rewards road riders for attending AMA-sanctioned vintage motocross, cross country, trials and road racing events throughout the year;

The AMA Premier Touring Series, which includes America’s biggest motorcycling events, such as Americade (June 1-6), Sturgis (Aug. 3-9), Rally In The Gorge (Aug. 26-30), The Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally (Sept. 16-20) and many more;

The Beta AMA National Dual Sport Series and Yamaha Super Ténéré AMA National Adventure Riding Series events, which feature challenging routes on the country’s best backroads and trails.

Dozens of local recreational riding events, from poker runs to field meets.

The AMA is the country’s largest organization for motorcyclists, the leading advocate for motorcyclists’ freedoms in Washington, D.C., the country’s oldest and largest amateur racing sanctioning body and the custodian of America’s motorcycling heritage at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. AMA members receive a number of discounts from AMA member benefit providers and enjoy access to the best motorcycling events.
