This off-season we’re running a series showing your motorcycles. Not just your road racing bikes, but your streetbikes, motocross bikes, dirt bikes, pit bikes, mini bikes, trials bikes, land-speed bikes, drag bikes, speedway bikes, whatever you’ve got. If you have more than one bike, send photos of them all–alone or with you! Send in-focus bike photos (as jpeg files) along with the make, model and year of each bike and your name, city and state, plus the name of the photographer, to [email protected]. By sending us the photos, you are certifying that you own the rights to the photos and are giving us permission to feature them on roadracingworld.com. Seen here in our 29th installment are photos sent in by MRA racer Robert Horn, age 52, from Englewood, Colorado. “Here’s my experimental bike–a Kawasaki EX500-powered homebuilt, finished in 2012,” writes Horn, who describes himself as the “owner/builder/rider/designer” of the unique machine. “I raced it in four MRA events this year (2014).” The photos show Horn posing with the bike and also riding it at High Plains Raceway during an MRA weekend last season.
Horn also included photos of his 1998 Kawasaki ZX-9R with and without his daughter Nina aboard, “my most recent streetbike. Loved it, but sold it in 2012 to buy transponder, new helmet, and other essential racing paraphernalia.” Other photos show “My current daily commuter/weekend exercise machine/pit bike when I cornerwork–a homebuilt bicycle I designed and built almost 10 years ago” and an “electric 2WD/2WS bike I designed/built about 14 years ago; I still own it and ride it occasionally. It usually hangs between my dining room and living room. I hope these pictures are useful and/or amusing!”
The last photo he sent in showed him aboard a Kawasaki during a California Superbike School at Sears Point Raceway (now known as Sonoma Raceway) in 1986.
