Five-Time Overall National Endurance Champion Michael Martin To Be Inducted Into CMRA Hall Of Fame

MICHAEL MARTIN TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE CMRA HALL OF FAME

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) is proud to announce that they will be inducting long-time racer/instructor/mentor Michael Martin into the CMRA Hall of Fame during the organization’s annual awards banquet on the evening of Saturday, December 13th at the Downtown 301 Event Center in Waco, Texas.

Michael Martin’s accomplishments include being the 1991-1996 WERA Heavyweight Superbike Endurance Champion riding for Team Suzuki Endurance. While with Team Suzuki Endurance, Michael co-rode in 63 endurance races, winning 51 races and taking 5 National Endurance Championships. During that period, Michael had a win-to-crash ratio of 51 to 1, the best in motorcycle endurance racing history to date.

Michael competed in the original Formula USA Series on a Team Valvoline Suzuki GSX-R1100, finishing 2nd in 1995, 4th in 1994, 3rd in 1993, 2nd in 1992 and 6th in 1991. Michael also won a large number of National and Regional Sprint championships with CMRA, CCS and WERA. Michael has been a long-time instructor with the Kevin Schwantz School, and is a founding partner at M4 Exhaust Systems.

The CMRA Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to honor those CMRA members that have made significant contributions to the CMRA organization through their time and efforts, or who started their careers with CMRA and have brought positive exposure to the organization through their National and International racing championships.

Previous CMRA Hall of Fame inductees include The Brothers Family, Colin Edwards, Brooks Gremmels, David Hirsch, Jamie James, Ty Howard, Lou Linden, Ronnie Lunsford, Norm McDonald, Sam McDonald, Laroy Montgomery, Doug Polen, Kevin Schwantz, Freddie Spencer, Ben Spies and Britt Turkington.
