(Editorial Note: According to team owner Brent Gladwin, Stauff is promoting its “Stauff Connect” line of hydraulic fittings by sponsoring GR Motosport’s Academy program, which will teach young riders how to be more effective racers and sponsor spokepersons. One rider in the Academy program will get a ride on the Stauff Connect Academy Supersport bike in 2015 and can earn a ride on a WD-40 Superbike for 2016 if they hit a set of pre-determined goals.)

GR Motosport / Team WD-40 announce Stauff Connect Academy

Sheffield based GR Motosport Ltd and Stauff UK were pleased to be able to unveil their ambitious plans, to the ‘Made In Sheffield’ (MIS) manufactures forum ‘Generating Growth through Innovation’ at Sheffield Hallam University this week.

Both Stauff UK and GR Motosport, who have strong links with the City of Sheffield through engineering and motorcycle sport, were proud to be invited by MIS to reveal the striking green and yellow livery of the ‘ Stauff Connect Academy’ Kawasaki

Stauff UK, looking to enjoy their 3rd year of involvement with GR Motosport and Team WD-40 Announced: “We are proud to announce our continued support of fellow Sheffield based GR Motosport and Team WD-40, for the 2015 British Superbike Championship. We have enjoyed partnering Team WD-40 for the last 2 years and have become increasingly more involved in the team activities, to the point where an agreement has been reached to enter a STAUFF branded bike in the Superstock 600 category for 2015.

“The concept is the brainchild of GR Motosport Managing Director, Brent Gladwin and Stauff’s Head of Marketing Iain Stansbie in co-operation with WD-40. It will see the Stauff Connect Academy bike run by GR Motosport becoming an integral part of Team WD-40.”

Iain Stansbie said: “The STAUFF Connect Academy was born during a meeting to harmonise the team’s wish to continue developing a connection for youth talent and STAUFF’s requirements to highlight awareness of their latest range of quality fittings: The Stauff Connect Range. Our increased exposure in the 600cc Superstock category will offer more opportunities to utilise the bike in our marketing activities, we will also be able to offer more opportunities for customers and members of staff to attend race meetings.”

Brent Gladwin said: “Team WD-40 are proud to create this visible connection from grass roots racing to the pinnacle of British Motorcycle Sport, The British Superbike Championship. Our ethos has always been to help in the development of young talented riders, The Stauff Connect academy will formalise those goals. We now have a clear set of stepping stones from motocross into road racing and onto the Superbike. Today the only rider confirmation is, Sam Atkinson from Alnwick will pilot the motocross bike with a move from KTM to Kawasaki machinery. We continue to look at our possible rider options for both the Stauff Connect Academy 600 and our Team WD-40 Superbikes, where we hope to make announcements in the near future.”

Team WD-40 leave this weekend on our next adventure, this time to Italy where we will feature on WD-40’s Stand in Hall 6 of the Eicma Moto 2014 in Milan. A fantastic stand in a brilliant venue, please call by to say hello and discuss the unrivalled ‘WD-40 Specialist Motorbike’ Product range.
