The final qualifying session for the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson class was cut short Sunday morning at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) when Championship point leader Danny Eslick crashed his Ruthless Racing XR1200 and put oil and debris on the track and caused at least one other rider, Joe Rozynski, to crash.

Eslick told Roadracingworld.com that he ran off the track at Turn Four, a fast right-hander, and crashed while trying to get slowed down in the wet grass run-off area. Eslick’s bike, along with some of its fluids, some grass and dirt, came back onto the track at Turn Five. Rozynski, a regular on the series from New Jersey, could not avoid Eslick’s debris and crashed his Sound Waves/Sirius XM-sponsored XR1200.

Eslick reported that he hurt his right shoulder and his left wrist in the crash.

Six-Four Motorsports/DAS Performance/GN Gonzales’ Shane Narbonne captured the pole position with a time of 1:31.373. Narbonne won the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson race at NJMP in 2012.

Due to a gross reduction in track time, according to AMA Pro Road Race Director David McGrath, the grid for the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson race will be compiled using riders’ best lap times from Saturday’s dry Free Practice, Saturday’s wet Qualifying Session One and Sunday’s dry but red flag-shortened Qualifying Session Two.
