[Buttonwillow, CA] California Roadrace Association (CRA) is holding the third round of its 2023 season this weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, in Buttonwillow, California. The Southern California weather cooperated Saturday morning and Bryce Prince on his BPR Yamaha YZF-R1 took full advantage to set a fast qualifying time of 1:44.687 to earn pole for Sunday’s featured CTML Consultants Gold Cup.  Racers came from everywhere, resulting in healthy grids and great competition.

Nayden Balladares and his Pirelli-shod Kawasaki ZX-10R won the first race on Saturday, the 61 DTC/Pirelli 1000 GT.  Balladares controlled the second half of the 16-lap race over Mathew Testa and his Yamaha YZF-R1, also equipped with Pirellis.  Testa made a strong effort to close the gap but in the end Balladares claimed the win.

Competition continues Sunday with the CTML Consultants Gold Cup and a full range of other CRA classes, and the weather is looking favorable.
