Aleix Espargaro, the 25-year-old Spaniard who is currently the top rider in the Open class of the MotoGP World Championship on his NGM Mobile Forward Racing Yamaha, is working on a deal that will see him join Suzuki’s new MotoGP effort in 2015.

“Everybody knows that my priority is to run Suzuki next year, but it is not fixed yet,” Espargaro told reporters in Thursday’s pre-event press conference at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “Before Germany [Sachsenring], we had a couple of good options and we decided to stop to think about all the options during the summer break. The last week we decided to keep working just with Suzuki. We are looking at a lot of different things. It’s my priority, but we have a lot of different things to go still.”

Espargaro then said it surprised him to hear the news that Stefan Bradl, displaced at LCR Honda by Cal Crutchlow, had signed to join the NGM Mobile Forward Racing team for 2015.

“Yesterday, I was in New York and I saw on Twitter he will join Forward Racing,” said Espargaro. “I wish him good luck. He will find a really good team family, because they are really good. I hope he is not really fast and I can beat him.”
