Tyler Scott earned MotoAmerica Supersport pole position at New Jersey Motorsports Park, in Millville, New Jersey. Riding his Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki GSX-R750, the Pennsylvania native recorded a 1:23.779 in dry conditions during Friday’s Qualifying One (Q1) session to lead the field of 28 riders. Then with rain falling during Saturday’s Qualifying Two (Q2) putting that time out of reach, Scott’s Q1 time secured pole position for both of this weekend’s races.

Jake Lewis will start from the second spot on the grid thanks to the 1:23.847 he did on his Disrupt Racing Suzuki GSX-R750 on Friday, and Josh Hayes, the all-time AMA/MotoAmerica race win leader, qualified third with a 1:23.934 on his Squid Hunter Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 in Q1.

Row two qualifiers include North East Cycle Outlet Racing Yamaha’s Anthony Mazziotto (1:24.036), Wrench Motorcycles Suzuki’s David Anthony (1:24.094), and Scott’s teammate Teagg Hobbs (1:24.098).

Anthony, however, was the quickest rider — by far — during Saturday’s wet Q2 session. The Australian native did a 1:41.873 on his GSX-R750, and that was 1.520 seconds faster than anyone else.
