CMRA in Action at Motorsport Ranch This Weekend

This coming weekend, July 4-6, 2013, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) will be tearing up the track at MotorSport Ranch in Cresson, Texas. The track is located 14 miles south of Fort Worth on Highway 377. MotorSport Ranch is composed of two road courses: a 1.7-mile, 11-turn track and a 1.3-mile, 6-turn track, although only the 1.7-mile track will be utilized this weekend.

The weekend activities begin at 7:00 a.m. Friday with a CMRA License school, racer practice and street-rider track day provided by Lone Star Track Days (www.lstd.com).

Saturday’s schedule begins with a full slate of Mini and Lightweight Sprint races, including the Four81 Motos-sponsored Grom Challenge, Altus Motorsports-sponsored 300 and 500 SuperSport and Rainbow Sox Racing-sponsored Junior Motard class for the youngest racers, ages 8-12 years old. The third round of CMRA Lightweight Endurance Series, a 6-hour race, begins promptly at 10:45 a.m. Racing concludes with the third round of the Team 60 race, unique and popular because of the LeMans-style start. A trophy presentation and trackside racer/spectator Meet and Greet party is a welcome finish to the full day of racing.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Big Bike sprint races. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the Breast Cancer Research Foundation / P1 Racing Formula 1 Expert class. In addition to a cash purse totaling $11,000 paid out to the top Formula 1 Expert finishers over the course of the 2014 season, a portion of each entry fee is donated to Breast Cancer Research. A few of the other weekend purse paying classes include, 212Decals.com – A Superbike Expert ($150), Team Mancuso Powersports SW – B & C Superbike ($300) and Houston Superbikes – HW Twins ($150). A full list of sponsored classes and payouts can be found here: http://www.cmraracing.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=263&d=1397251277

The Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association is proud to be “Powered by Yamaha Generators”. Yamaha has donated a Yamaha inverter/generator (model EF2000iS) to be raffled off during the Formula 1 Expert trophy presentation on Sunday morning. Raffle tickets can be purchased in Registration at the track or by calling the CMRA office. All proceeds from the raffle go to benefit CMRA racer, Jennifer Millsap, in her fight against cancer. Additional information about Jennifer and other donation options can be found here: http://www.cmraracing.com/showthread.php?30608-Help-Jennifer-Fight-Like-A-Girl-!

There is live timing and scoring available for all the races via the Race-Monitor App on mobile devices and online at cmraracing.com/timing.html.

Gates open each day at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $15 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and just $10 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting. Bring a cooler or visit the on-site food truck located in the vendor area near the club house.

Please note that NO PETS are allowed at any of the CMRA race events.
