STUMP to SUBSTITUTE for JAMES on JAMES GANG/HOBAN BROTHERS XR1200 at BARBER
Waukesha, Wisc. – Eric Stump will substitute for Paul James on the James Gang/Hoban Brothers Racing XR1200 during the AMA Pro Racing Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson race at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. James suffered a concussion, four broken ribs and a broken scapula as a result of a crash at Road America during the AMA Pro Racing weekend.
“I was really hoping to be recovered and ready to race at Barber,” said James. “But I’m still pretty beat up and Barber is a very physically demanding track. I didn’t want to miss the chance to work with our VETMotorsports wounded vet crewman, and I heard Eric was looking for a ride, so it feels like a win for both of us.”
James Gang/Hoban Brothers Racing partners with VETMotorsports in its mission to honor and empower disabled combat veterans through active participation in motorsports with post 9-11 wounded combat veterans serving as embedded members of the team throughout the 2014 AMA Pro Racing season.
Stump finished fifth at Daytona and eighth at Road America after breaking his shifter during the race and having to shift by hand. Known for his never say die attitude, Stump sits seventh in Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series points. “I’m just really looking forward to being part of the Gang this weekend,” said Stump.
Stump is supported by Liberty Chevrolet and EyeballMOTO.
