Two-Time World Champion Cecil Sandford, R.I.P.

Two-time Grand Prix World Champion and two-time Isle of Man TT winner Cecil Sandford died November 28. He was 95.

Sandford, an Englishman, made his Grand Prix debut in 1950 and went on to win the 1952 125cc World Championship on an MV Agusta, giving the Italian manufacturer its first World Championship victory. Sandford later won the 1957 250cc World Championship with Mondial.

He is survived by his wife Pat and sons Ian and Mark.
