NGM Forward Racing Team heads to Spain, Espargaro’s home GP
NGM Forward Racing Team heads to Spain this week for the Grand Prix of Catalunya, at Montmeló circuit, located just 25 km north of Barcelona.
For Aleix Espargaro, who used to live just 3 km far from the racetrack, this is really his home GP and the Spaniard looks forward to make a good race in front of his home crowd. To celebrate this special occasion, Aleix will have on Sunday a special bike livery, helmet and leather suit.
After a complete test of the new chassis during the Italian GP, Colin Edwards will be back on track at Montemelo on board of his Forward Yamaha, continuing the development of the new chassis, that gave him very good feeling in Mugello.
Fresh from a well deserved 4th place in Mugello, also Moto2 rider Simone Corsi is eager to repeat a strong performance in Spain, aiming at conquering another podium finish, as he already did in Le Mans.
After the difficult home race, that saw him crash out when he was in 5th position, Mattia Pasini is determined to come back fighting this weekend in Spain.
The Spanish GP will be an exciting weekend on and off track with many appointments with guests and media, starting from Thursday 12th June at 15.30 with the press conference at the NGM Forward Racing Hospitality that will launch the new MotoGP 14, the official video game of the World MotoGP Championship by Milestone. Partner of the team, Milestone, the biggest Italian videogames developer, will launch the MotoGP 14 video game, that saw Colin, Aleix, Simone and Mattia as the official testers.

“Barcelona has always been one of my favourite rounds on the GP schedule. After our first run with the new chassis at Mugello, I’m excited to get back to work. Our main focus will be more on the electronics side but we will be trying different chassis settings as well. If all goes well, it should be a good weekend”.

“Catalunya is really my home GP as I used to live just 3 km far from the racetrack. I remember that from my class at school we could hear the bikes testing on the track, so it’s a very familiar and special place for me. No need to say that I look forward to get a good result here. I like the track very much, I know every single meter. Catalunya has one of the longest main straight in the world and we know that we will struggle a bit in terms of top speed, but I like the long turns and I’m very motivated to do well”.
Simone Corsi
“We return to Spain for the second time this season after two positive races and I look forward to race in Montmelo. The team is working well, but we need to make a step forward in the qualifying. In Moto2 we are all very close, so it’s crucial to start from the first two rows”.
Mattia Pasini
“I’m excited for the Catalunya GP. I had a difficult start of the season but at Mugello we showed that we can be fast. It’s a pity that we couldn’t be competitive in the home gp and a mistake spoiled the weekend. I’m determined to do well”.
