LATUS MOTORS RACING AND BOBBY FONG GO FOR BACK-TO-BACK SUPERBIKE SHOOTOUT WINS

GLADSTONE, Ore. (May 2, 2014) – The Latus Motors Racing/Castrol/Triumph pro road racing team and rider Bobby Fong are going for two straight DynoJet Pro Sportbike wins in the GEICO Motorcycle Superbike Shootout this weekend at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Fong started by winning the opening round of the three-race series from the pole at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., last weekend on Sunday, April 27, 2014. The next round is the May 3-4 Arai Pacific Nationals at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

“We had a great weekend at Auto Club Speedway. The competition is tough and the victory was a tremendous morale boost for our team,” said George Latus, owner of Latus Motors Racing.

“We have an awesome crew and a lot of momentum and confidence coming off the Daytona 200 and last weekend’s win at Auto Club Speedway,” said Fong, of Stockton, Calif. “Sonoma’s my home track, and I’m going to attack it with everything I’ve got to bring home another win.”

The Superbike Shootout series is modeled after the successful British Superbike series. Event organizers work with AFM, WERA Motorcycle Roadracing, Utah SBA, and Fastrack Riders to host each race weekend.

The Shootout’s finale is May 24-25 at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah.

In its first six years of AMA Pro Road Racing, the Latus Motors Racing team won the prestigious Daytona 200 and finished in the race’s Top 5 four times with riders Jason DiSalvo (1st in 2011, 2nd in 2012), Steve Rapp (3rd in 2010), and Bobby Fong (4th in 2014).

The Latus Motors road racing team is sponsored by Castrol, Triumph, GE Capital, FreedomRoad Financial and Lucky Brand, Apex Manuacturing, Sportbike Track Time, and RM Management as well as Bickle, Catalyst Composites, Cortech, Cox, Dunlop, DynoJet, ET, Galfer, Hindle, Sunoco, Superlite, and Zero Gravity.
