On Tuesday, April 15, the Suzuki MotoGP test team, the Yoshimura Suzuki American Superbike team and former World Champion Kevin Schwantz tested at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), near Austin, Texas, but all of the lap times from the day’s testing only became available Wednesday morning.

Suzuki MotoGP test rider Randy De Puniet was fastest on the track with a time of 2:06.4, according to his team manager Davide Brivio, while sorting out the latest Magneti-Marelli control ECU.

That time is well off Marc Marquez’s Circuit Best MotoGP Lap Record of 2:02.773 and his Race Lap Record of 2:03.575, but it was De Puniet’s first day with the Suzuki on the 3.4-mile track and he was still working on finding a baseline setup.

In just 11 laps on the Suzuki MotoGP bike, Schwantz recorded a 2:12.7, which was far faster than he went all day on his 2013-spec Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike, 2:15.5.

The fastest Superbike rider was Martin Cardenas, who did a 2:10.8 according to team manager Rich Doan, but the Colombian was not happy that he did not go faster than Tito Rabat’s Moto2 pole position time of 2:10.135.

Roger Hayden’s best lap time was a 2:11.8, but Hayden had a busy test schedule Tuesday and is still acclimating himself to the Yoshimura Suzuki and his new team.

Chris Clark’s lowest lap time was a 2:13.7, according to his team.

All of the Suzuki riders will conclude their test at COTA today.
