Maverick Vinales won the FIM MotoGP World Championship race, the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, Sunday at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), in Austin, Texas.
Riding his factory Aprilia RS-GP, Vinales won the 20-lap race by 1.728 seconds over rookie sensation Pedro Acosta and his Red Bull Tech3 GASGAS.
Lenovo Ducati’s Enea Bastianini made a late-race pass to steal third from Jorge Martin, who finished fourth on his Prima Pramac Racing Ducati.
Bastianini’s teammate, two-time and defending MotoGP World Champion Francesco Bagnaia rounded out the top five finishers.
